Dr. Mungcal was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. He is a proud graduate of the University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS). After several years of practice as a general dentist for both adults and children in the Sacramento area, Dr. Mungcal discovered his passion for orthodontics – a field that blends art, science, and the joy of helping patients feel truly confident in their smiles. He went on to pursue this passion at the renowned Montefiore Medical Center / Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, completing three additional years of specialty training and serving as Chief Resident for his program.

Dr. Mungcal is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and maintains active membership in the American Association of Orthodontists and Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics. He is a lifelong learner and is committed to providing high-quality, personalized care grounded in evidence-based dentistry.

Outside the office, Dr. Mungcal takes full advantage of Northern Nevada’s outdoor lifestyle. He enjoys snowboarding, camping, hiking, river floating, and relaxing by the Sierra lakes. At home, he loves watching stand-up comedy specials, online gaming with friends, and spending time with family. His all-time favorite activity though is discovering new restaurants and dessert spots around town – and he is always open to recommendations!
